Oh my god. You know what's slowly dawning on me?

  • June 17 - Etrian Odyssey 2
  • June 24 - FFTA2
  • July 1 - Trauma Center 2
  • July 22 - FF4 DS
  • Rumored sometime in August maybe? September 16 :( - Dragon Quest 4 DS
It's been a dry year for the DS I love more than salt, and now THIS?! M-my poor money... Plus, I still have a Wii to outfit, not only with its own games but all the GC titles I never got to play. I don't know how I'm going to do this, but it's gonna be the rockingest summer ever.

Sobsobsob that's what hit me when I was at GameStop the other day, picking up Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates.

I hadn't realized how soon FF4 (and allegedly DQ4 which I'm actually more excited about~) was coming. Otherwise Atlus would be winning.

...Really I'm kind of just glad my DS gets to do stuff again. It was like a neverending party for a few months after I got it, but then there was nothing but Imagine Babyz and whatnot.

I also have my eye on Rondo of Swords, which is Atlus.

And for some reason I keep eyeing Heroes of Mana, even though that franchise has peaked and there will never be another Seiken Densetsu 3.

Oh, man, I wanted so much to want HoM, but I couldn't do it. There will never be another Seiken Densetsu 3; there won't even be another Legend of Mana. I weep.

I bought the PS2 game...I forget what it's even called.

It was horrible. I couldn't make it through the first level. The Mana franchise is the spouse who keeps beating me and I KNOW the relationship is bad but I stay because I BELIEVE THAT THEY CAN CHAAANGE BECAUSE I LOVE THEM.

Everything points to Rondo of Swords being rad. Heard lots of good things! Probably picking it up soon before it inevitably vanishes forever.

I picked it up at release. It's pretty fun.

Also, AAAAAAAH I'm going to spend way too much the next few months. EO2, FF4ds, TC2, and of course Rock Band for Wii. Fuck.

Dry year?! Well, I dunno if Ninja Gaiden's your thing, but it's a lot of fun, and The World Ends with You is the most fun I've had with a Square Enix product in... well, a really long time!

Ninja Gaiden pretty much isn't, and I've heard nice things about TWEWY you maybe I should look into it and all but it like just came out! There's no way that's at all comparable to this list. ...I think I meant "year" in the sense of the full year since last spring.

I have mixed feelings about FFTA2 since FFTA was... FFTA, and all. But somehow I just can't stop looking forward to it. I'm a sucker. I have faith that it will be better, but how much so, that's the question.

You should wait a while so that the Squeenix games go down from "what? why does a DS game cost $40?" to "oh, it's finally $30, where it should have been when it came out."

Well, it's true those ones aren't in danger of disappearing off the shelves entirely. Maybe FF4, but I'm not sure I want to wait on FFTA2, and DQ4 has Healie. But of course, I may be, y'know, still playing the previous games on the list. It's a possibility.

The problem is, they tend not to go down in price on their own, kind of like Nintendo games. If you get lucky, some stores will clearance them out for cheap, but then CAG or FatWallet people will beat you to it usually. :(
